Dr. Timothy Cheng Tsin Jien graduated from University of Malaya in 2012. He completed his houseman-ship training in Hospital Queen Elizabeth last year and is currently a medical officer of Orthopaedic Surgery in Hospital Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Writing to the papers and the online media has been his interest since his university days. Dr. Timothy Cheng believes in public accountability and the importance of transparent dialogue on national issues especially in regards to the healthcare system. His efforts are shown through his active participation as a columnist for Medicine Malaysia where he writes on housemen dilemma and houseman-ship training. His works were also being featured on The Star Newspaper.
Furthermore, his love for medicine and care for the community has driven him to engage in numerous relief missions and medical screenings to various remote places in South-east Asia. He understands that it’s with these activities where one appreciates what we truly have and motivates one to continue to thrive as a good doctor.
